Chapter 8
***Richard***
Weeks and more passed by in quick succession, and I was living a lie. I was happy to have my ultimate sub every night to pleasure and tease, but I had to share her with my brother. It was weighing heavily on me, and it had gotten in the way of work more than once. There were days when Aaron and I couldn’t even be in the same room without some random explosion. It was the toll loving the same woman took, or rather, sleeping with the same woman. I couldn’t exactly say what my brother felt for her was love. It was more like obsession. It was a feeling many doms developed for their subs. It could often lead to something long-term, but usually not marriage or a family. Even as a dom, those things were in the back of my mind, always.
It was Saturday afternoon when everything began to change for me and the woman I loved. My phone began to ring incessantly, and I tried to ignore it as I let the steamy shower clear my head. But then it just kept buzzing.
I dried my hand and reached out to grab it, seeing that it was Aria. "Hello?" I answered, getting a bad feeling instantly as I heard her tears coming through the receiver before she even spoke a word.
"Richard. I need you to come to me now or send a car, or something. Please. I'm scared, and I need to talk to you." I jumped out of the shower, almost slipping and falling right on my back as I scrambled to get dry and find clothes to put on. Whatever was going on, it wasn’t good. I had to get to her quickly.
"Alright, I will be there in a few minutes. Find a place in the house you feel safe, and stay on the phone with me. Hang on, Aria."
I had never gotten anywhere in Manhattan as fast as I did that day. Somehow, the river of traffic had been parted just for me to reach her in ten minutes flat. I found her cradled up in her pink robe on her bedroom floor. Tear stains streaked her face that I tried to wipe and kiss away before cradling her like a baby and bringing her to the living room and laying her on the couch.
I went to the kitchen and steeped her some tea, trying to make sure she was calm before telling me what was happening. As I brought her a cup full of chamomile, she pointed to something by her front door I hadn’t noticed in my rush to get in there. Both items laying there put me into a state of shock.
The first was a note and a rose left for her from a man named Chad. I knew that was the name of the man who had abused her. It meant he was in town and knew where she was now. I could understand her fear now as I looked between the note and her.
